Holy Orders/Vocations

When we think of a Vocation, we think of someone becoming a priest, sister, brother or deacon. The Vocations Committee of Ottawa promotes and encourages vocations to the priesthood and to religious life. All of us, though, have a vocation to be God's followers. We can do that as a husband, wife, single person, mother, father, doctor, teacher, senior citizen or child. God's calling is mystifying. It also comes - or becomes apparent to us - over a period of time. If we truly enjoy something, that is a good sign that we might be suited to follow God in that direction. God gives us gifts and talents to be put to use for the good of all.
